A glimpse into the research and design development process of a high-rise mixed-use commercial and residential complex by Team VHLArch in East Africa.
Beyond architectural form, the project integrates studies of spatial organization, landscape, microclimate, and CFD – Computational Fluid Dynamics to evaluate wind flow between the towers, Venturi effects, downwash, and pedestrian wind comfort within public spaces.
Architecture, landscape, and open spaces are developed as an integrated system to enhance natural ventilation, improve the microclimate, and create a green and comfortable living environment within a high-density urban context.
