TARENA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT | #VHLArch
Chocó, Colombia
Concept Design: Vo Huu Linh Architects
Tarena International Airport is envisioned as a new aviation gateway for Chocó and a strategic component of the broader development vision for the Tarena area.
The architectural concept is defined by a continuous, fluid, organic roofscape that unifies the terminal into a distinctive overall form. A lightweight lattice envelope gives the building a porous and dynamic identity, while large roof openings introduce natural daylight deep into the terminal and create landscaped internal courtyards.
The planning strategy prioritizes clear passenger circulation, operational efficiency, future expansion, and strong connections between the terminal, road network, logistics areas, and surrounding urban functions. Landscape is integrated directly into the architecture to soften the scale of the infrastructure and establish a closer relationship with Chocó’s tropical natural environment.
Tarena International Airport is conceived not only as transportation infrastructure, but also as a new architectural and infrastructural landmark for Chocó, Colombia.
